ZapCat Power Boat Grand Prix at Barry Island Seafront

The ‘Barry Island Zapcat Racing Grand Prix’ takes place on the weekend of 7th and 8th August, where there is much to look forward to for fans of extreme powerboating action.

Zapcat Racing returns to Barry Island following the success of 2009’s inaugural event, which saw the largest number of entries, as well as some of the best spills and crashes, of the season. Just as many teams are expected this year, as well as plenty more thrills and wipeouts.

Whitmore Bay so far has delivered some of the most unpredictable race conditions on one of the longest courses of the Zapcat Racing tour, the big tides and gusting winds arriving from differing directions around the headlands make for an exciting spectacle.

The Vale of Glamorgan Council has worked tirelessly to ensure Barry plays a major role in the Zapcat Racing calendar in 10th anniversary season of the competition.

The event is free to view and heats begin at noon on each day of what promises to be yet another exhilarating Zapcat weekend.
