Tredegar House is one of the most magnificent 17th century country houses in Britain and one of the architectural wonders of Wales. For over 500 years, it was the ancestral home of one of the greatest Welsh families, The Morgans, later Lords of Tredegar, until they left in 1951.Whilst parts of the House date back to medieval times, most of what you see today was built between 1664 and 1672. Situated within 90 acres of beautiful gardens and parkland, this delightful red brick 17th Century house and its? outstanding features, provides a perfect day out! What is here? - Brewhouse tearooms - Visitor centre and gift shop - Community library - The Orangery - Formal gardens - 90 acres of parkland - Woodland walk The House is open from Easter to the end of September, with public House tours from Wednesday ? Sunday. Tours take approximately 1 ¼ hours, starting at 11am hourly until 4pm. For groups of 10 or more, Tredegar House will open by appointment, for daytime and evening tours. Specialist tours can be designed around your requirements and why not combine a tour with refreshments in the Brewhouse Tearooms? Entrance to the park and gardens at Tredegar House is free.
